Albeni Falls Dam is located on the Pend Oreille river in beautiful northern Idaho about 45 miles northeast of Spokane, Washington. Albeni Falls is a multi-purpose project responsible for hydropower generation, flood control, recreation, navigation and wildlife management. Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program.
The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of Army.

Positions are open to current students in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver license. Must be 17 years of age by 1 MAY 2015. Will be required to sign a Pathways Participant Agreement. Wearing and maintaining a prescribed uniform is required. Required to work shifts on nights and weekends. As a student trainee you will provide assistance for park activities during the summer season by performing a variety of tasks to promote enjoyment of park facilities by the public. As a trainee you will receive a variety of assignments including on-the-job and formal training of increasing complexity under decreasing supervision. You will perform a variety of support tasks including some or all of, but not limited to:
Assist visitors at recreation areas and the visitor center.
Collect visitor recreational use fees.
Distribute information brochures
Explain project regulations to maintain the good conduct and safety of park visitors at all times.
Escort visitors on routine tours, assisting in interpretative activities, explaining the physical features of the project and answering standard questions.
Assist Park Rangers in the development, presentation, and maintenance of interpretive programs.
Deliver interpretive materials and supplies to recreation areas.
Collect visitation and other park related data using a computer to input, manipulate, retrieve and transmit information; track supply usage. Applicants must meet one of the education and or experience requirements below:

EDUCATION
Applicants must meet the education requirement:
Current enrollment in high school or a GED program
At the time of application you must be enrolled in an accredited high school or university for a minimum of half-time and remain in that status for the duration of the internship. Your application will be considered incomplete if proof of current enrollment is not submitted i.e., class schedule, letter of enrollment, pre-registration schedule/transcript(s), or receipt for tuition.
To qualify for the GS-02 level, applicants must have:
Completed a high school or GED diploma.
OR
6 months of general experience which demonstrates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills to perform administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work that provides a familiarity with natural or cultural history; fish or wildlife habitat characteristics; techniques of resource protection and use; recreational use of public lands and facilities; enforcement of laws, rules, or regulations; fire prevention techniques and fire suppression methods; or the practice of interpersonal relations skills in dealing with the general public. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or trades and crafts work is also qualifying if pertinent to the position to be filled. Experience of a routine nature, such as typing, filing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks is not qualifying.

To qualify for the GS-03 level, applicants must have:
Completed 1 full academic year of post-high school study.
OR
6 months general experience AND 3 months specialized experience as described below
OR
Combination of successfully completed education and specialized experience described above may be used to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-03 level.
Experience required: To qualify applicants must possess 6 months of general experience AND 3 months of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-02). Excess specialized experience can be substituted for general experience; but excess general experience cannot be substituted for required specialized experience.
General experience is defined as: demonstrating the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills to perform administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work that provides a familiarity with the position that can be in any of the following areas: natural or cultural history; fish or wildlife habitat characteristics; techniques of resource protection and use; recreational use of public lands and facilities; enforcement of laws, rules, or regulations; fire prevention techniques and fire suppression methods; or the practice of interpersonal relations skills in dealing with the general public.
Specialized Experience is defined as: technical, administrative, or scientific work, fish and wildlife management, recreation management, law enforcement, or other park-related work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include, but are not limited to, the following: Park Guide or tour leader; naturalist; environmental educator or teacher; or other similar work.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
